“I am a lesbian.”
Those were the four words that inspired Morgana Bailey to step out and try to make a difference.
It is sad to note that LGBTQ people are known first for being “different”, second the people that they are.
We’re not active LGBTQ advocates, but neither do we shame them. We believe that according them basic respect and dignity is the right thing to do. Not just for the LGBTQ community, but for everybody. No one should be ostracised, discriminated or given less; because equality is a necessity and not an option.
It’s not about religion, it’s about the very fundamental idea of what it means to be human. We need to stop casting judgmental glances and angry glares at people who are not like us. We need greater acceptance in our lives; and if one day we find out that we are not quite the same as well, you would still want others to treat you the same. Not differently.
“I believe that by facing my fears inside, I will be able to change reality outside.”
